I replaced the cast iron combined intake / exhaust manifold on the B20, dual SU HIFs, in my 145 with an aluminum intake from a '67 1800 and CI exhaust manifold from a '72 injected 144.
Everything fit up fine with the exception of the carb linkage from the firewall to the intake. I got it to work, but don't like the way it looks or operates. My problem is that the piece from the firewall to the center of the carbs is angled up. Aside from looking a little goofy, (I was hoping it would be near level as it is with the CI manifold) this is reducing the amount of pedal travel. I have adjusted the turnbuckles (?) but just can’t get enough pedal travel.
I know my problem is using the linkage stop for the twin carb / CI set-up on the AL intake. Did Volvo ever have a linkage stop for a 140 series with AL intake? They must have had something in the R-sport line, right? But maybe the mounting point was lower.
Thanks
