As a recommendation of something to check as a possible cause of poor mileage, one reply said to check the intake manifold gasket. If it was red it was probably bad, but if green it is probably good.
Finally it was warm enough to look carefully.

What I see tho is a what looks like a rubber hose with clamps for each cylinder holding the manifold to the engine. Without taking anything off, I cannot see any gasket.

What am I missing?
