I'm going to install my new aftermarket Dual Stereo head unit (Dual XHD6425)into the soon to be rebuilt dash of my new '90 245 (that's replacing Bad Blue - '86 245 that got me started here a while back!).
I also have a decent pair of front speakers and will probably try to figure a way to install decent rear speakers (are the doors the best place for these?). As I'm looking to do this once with a well planned approach I began to look for information in the archives here - very informative.
I would like to get pretty good sound quality so my questions are:
Should I use an amp and if so should I use the factory amp which sits somewhere in the bowels of the dash I'm about to pull and rebuild (replacing with a less cracked one that I got from the junkyard a while back) or should I buy and install an aftermarket amp?
Is there a website I could go to in order to better learn about what watts match what amps and speakers, and to learn whether I even need an amp or not?
thanks guys,
and ... glad to be back in the 200 section of the brickboard!
