strange rattle upon deceleration 900

1991 944T, 170k miles.

I have been noticing a strange rattle come from underneath my car, it seems that its coming from under the car, below the dash. The rattle does not always happen, and is most common after highway driving for a while, and then a hard deceleration. Its not the exhaust, or heat shields. Someone i talked to said it could be a drive shaft support issue. I had the oil change guy tell me if there was play in the drive shaft, he said that there was. Do you guys have any clues as to what my intermittent rattle might be?
