how do i remove the old scrapers and install the new?

Gently unhook the bent end from around the window frame piece. You jusr have to
loosen the grip. Then pry the scraper straight up with a big screwdriver, using a
putty knife or something to protect the door tape. The whole scraper frame will
slowly lift. Replace a new one with a small block of wood and a hammer to tap it down.
If you want to re-use the scraper metal and replace the rubber, you will have to
loosen the 3 or 4 crimps that hold the rubber in the frame piece.

What i don't understand is does this imply removing the entire aluminum seal carrier panel that it 2" wide and cover the top of the door? Since I am installing new, soft rubber can i just rip out the old junk and slide in my new piece with some lubrication?

i left the Bentley bible at home and am chomping at the bit, considering pulling the car in the shop after work and doing the job
