Hi everyone ..been a long time since I made a post.

Helping a buddy with his 85 240 series.

Car had to have a replacement wiring harness. We pulled good one from junk yard. Was running - very rich - with old harness. Now that new harness is on and all is connected, will not start.

There is a spark (weak), the injectors do have power, but no pulse. Am somewhat familiar with 700/900 series - but this one has no crank sensor or suppression relay to suspect.

I have a Volvo technician working with me, but he so far is stumped too. Any idea what we may be missing.

Oh ..the fuel pump relay does not seem to be doing anything.
PLUS ..
the downshift cable is stuck somewhere in the tranny - cable does not move freely in and out. The reason I mention this I was searching the faq's and it mentioned a throttle position sensor fooling the ECU. May not fit here.
And ..
the tech had a problem getting a ground inside the car to use a test light on the fuse panel. Had to run it from the battery.
