I got to the junkyard tonight about 1/2 hour before closing and scoped out about 1/2 the import section for a near 1990 Volvo with the same EGR valve as the one on my 1990 B230F with L2.4 fuel system, no turbo, automatic trans.
I found an 1988 or 1989 240 that had what looks like the right EGR, but It is such a PITA to remove that I want to make sure that the EGR I pull is correct for my car, even if it comes from a different year or model Volvo donor. At $200 plus tax being my best price so far, it will be worth my (considerable) effort to remove a working EGR from a wreck and pay only $24 used.
According to Wells, who sells replacement EGR Valves, (Autozone) my valve EGR4266 fits some earlier 240 series with automatic trans. I can try punching in multiple year cars, but it would be much better to punch in the part number and have it list which cars it fits. Then I can take the list to the junkyard.
Is there a cross reference of genuine Volvo parts to see which part fits what year so I can be sure when I go tomorrow?
Thanks
