I've been trying to figure out a "low" pedal on my 1983 245--maybe a better way to describe the problem is little/no braking in the first 1-2 inches of brake pedal travel.

I've replaced the MC (twice--bench-bled it before install per instructions), and installed rebuilt calipers, new brake hoses (all), a couple of new hard lines, and completely bled system twice (ATE "blue," then ATE "gold" so I could see when the first fluid was through the system). No bubbles during either bleed, no leaks, all pistons seem to move fine, and the pedal has good solid feel, and overall braking is quite good--it's just that the brake pedal seems "low" compared to our two 244s (both have gotten the same brake treatment as the 245).

About the only part of the system I haven't touched is the brake booster, so I'm wondering if the pushrod length on the wagon's booster is a little shorter than on the sedans . . . .

I know there's an "acorn" looking nut on the end of the booster push rod, so I'm assuming the rod length is adjustable. Does anybody have the procedures and adjustment spec's? I know I don't want to get it too long, or it would be like being on the brakes all the time . . . .

Oh, one other difference--the 245 is a v8, but wouldn't think that engine size would make a difference.
