760GLE V6 flooding warm restart. lotsa smoke! 700

Guys
1988 760GLE w/V-6. Vehicle starts great in the morning regardless of temp. If allowed to sit for a few hours it is fine. However, If an attempts to start is made after 20 min the old car bogs down in an old time flood situation that strangely is only solved after flooring the accelerator and continued cranking. After 5-10 seconds she fires up reluctantly and treats everyone around to a huge cloud of smoke. A few moments later the car is great and could repeat the cycle again. Otherwise, no problems, normal mediocre fuel consumption, etc... This morning I would have sworn it was starter injector, but alas I have the LH Jettronic and I just found out I dont have one. Please help.
