Greetings. I have the good fortune of owning a 98 S90. I had it towed home and it has been in the garage for about 3 months while I get into the fixing it mood. Well the time has come. I was underway at about 70 mph when the belt broke. . . actually the timing belt tensioner blew apart which, I assume, is a defacto broken t-belt. I've read a little here that the valves are certainly bent as a result. So. . . now I'm wondering what the best approach would be to fix it. How can I diagnose the total damage so that I can plan the appropriate repairs. I don't want to fix the belt and tensioner only to learn I have bent valves. I don't want to repair the valves/head if I don't have to.
Any advice? Thank you in advance.
