Do You Know Where Your Car's Service Socket Is? (200/700/900)


If you ever want to operate the starter from under the hood, the Service Socket connects to Starter terminal 50. (Via the Neutral Safety Switch if car has Auto Transmission.) A jumper wire from Battery + to the Service socket will energize the starter.

 The 940 Service Socket (Blue) is shown below:



I don't have a 240 anymore, so I can't show the exact SS location. But look for a short wire coming out of the thick bundle that crosses the upper firewall—it's 5" or 6" long with female spade terminal inside Black plastic housing. Wire color is Blue, but probably covered by black insulation. Near car's center I think.
