my 1974 144 will not rev up smooth or even start ? 140-160

ok for the last two weeks my car has been runing horible 1974 144 b20b dual suhi6 carbs, here is what it will mostly do ( if it starts) it will idle very bad and die but some times will idle very well after warming up , it will rev up very chopy at best and even the tach jumps more than the engine when doing this , it will die at lights and not restart right away , it was likeing it when i warmed it up then it would run but only if i gave it a half inch of throtle at the most chopy and even backfireing more given her is what i have done . changed the spark pulgs ( and taken out and cleaned a few times light black soot not bad) Set valve clearences, run carb cleaner into carbs while runing good though clean, changed fual filter, put fuel cleaner in tank , put gas line anti freese in tank, toped up dash pots on carbs . All minimal help ( liked when plugs changed or cleaned)today I then took cap and rotor off sanded clean the termials inside and cleaed up terminals on rotor , cleaned the faily dirty conections on th coil wire leads and wire to the dist and wire ends put it all to gether and bang started great ran like a new car reved up perfect good power idle perfect!!! drove around engoying my victory and went to my gals place restarted took about 5 seconds of turnover but the ran perfect again !!! then drove around got a haircut and now does not start and started a bit and then died i just towed the car back to my house ,Help please any good sugestion apreated , sorry for the long post and thanks in advance Nat .
