Hi there - having a mystery problem that I hope someone can shed some light on.
Starting last summer, my 940 would occasionally not turn over. In reading the postings on this board, I moved the shifter around slightly while turning the key, and it worked. The next time that I was at the dealer, I told them about the problem and asked them to change the immobilizer. They told me that with this model it is the PNP switch. The day that it was replaced, I continued to have the same problem. We brought the car back to the dealer and they were unable to recreate the problem (of course). They checked the battery and the starter and all is tested to be fine.
The reason that I am still pretty sure that it is this PNP switch is that when the car won't start, I am able to move the shifter back and forth (i.e. it won't lock in place).
Does anyone have an idea??
