intermittent starting 200 1979

Good Morning! have this 79 245dl with a starting problem, on occasion, sometimes will start first crank, other times after several turns of the key, sometimes takes up to 10 minutes of cranking! i have had times where it is cold and it has a hard time starting. other times run all day and gives a very hard time starting. have checked all fuses and replaced in tank fuel pump, car has 181k miles and I am second owner, 4 speed stick w o/d, any experiences?
