Tinkering with a new car.... 700 1987

Hi folks.

I'm a lightweight when it comes to car-tweaking, but there are some things that I would like to fix or replace on my 740GLE. I was hoping I could have a little help in understanding how I go about fixing a few minor things.

My 740 is a sedan - the trunk struts are shot. I saw on FCP Groton there are replacements for under $15 - any special tools or experience needed to repair these? I keep getting caught in my trunk as I lean in there.

The engine fan shroud is loose on one side of the radiator - the screw-hole on the shroud pulled out, but the screw is still there in the plastic radiator. Would fitting a washer to the screw hold it on, or is the plastic too brittle for that (once it's broken already)?

My antenna is long since gone. I think the motor is all right - I hear it work when I turn the radio off - and I need to plug the hole or install a new antenna. What's the advice here? What specific part would I need, or do I have to purchase a whole motor/antenna assembly?

I'm waiting on a gas cap hinge and spring that looks like a fun mini-project.

Ari
