Hello All:

I have a stubborn no-start on my '92 945T. Two Fridays ago my wife moved it to the curb outside our house-- when I went to move it back to the driveway it would crank but not start.

It didn't seem to be getting fuel, so I replaced the main pump and the filter. This didn't solve the no start.

The timing belt is turning the cam, as evidenced by looking in the oil fill.

I tried jumpering out the fuel system relay-- I could run the pumps and push fuel through the FPR return line. It would do the same with the relay in place. If I pull the fuel input line to the main pump and crank I get some fuel, so the transfer pump is pushing fuel.

I checked for spark-- it seems fine-- that means I have a good distributor cap and rotor (new Bosch this fall), RPM sensor (new last spring), coil and power stage.

I used a 'noid light to verify that the ECU (-937) is pulsing the injectors and that the RSR is sound. I guess the 'noid light confirms that the injector ballast resistors are working too.

Javalion has suggested a sheared index pin on the cam, which I need to check out (I have posted in the previous thread to ask how). Something that fits with this suggestion is that it didn't fire with a 4 sec burst of starting fluid past the throttle butterfly.

I am open to all suggestions at this point-- I'd like to get this beast running again-- taking the bus is getting old fast!
