I ordered several parts for the old girl this week, among them were a full set of fan belts. I was reasonably happy when performing the Saturday morning ritual, of rolling the tool box over to the 245, and raising the front end, and setting the jack stands under the car. I removed the splash pan, and loosened all the various lock nuts and bolts, along with the belt adjusters while working topside. Under the car I went, along with assorted shaped 13mm tools, and after the removal of several bolts, I was able to change all the old worn bushings (they really didn't look that bad). I began to hang the various belts on the pulleys. I climbed back up top and was trying to install the first alternator belt, only to find that they had sent me a set that was 7mm too short. My fault, I should have looked at the markings first, but I didn't. So I suppose that I get to do it all over again next weekend. Glad I didn't remove the old belts with the cutters.
