Hi all,
I posted awhile ago on my car running for only a couple of seconds after fixing the in-tank fuel pump. 88 240 192k wagon btw. Previously the car was running for a couple of months without the in tank pump working, i replaced this and went to try the car and it would only run for a few seconds, got to about 10 secs a couple of times. I unhooked the intank to make sure i hadn't messed up the wiring, i.e. wrong flow, nothing the car still didn't run. So i checked it without the AMM , ran a little better the first time, but no luck. Checked the vacum hoses, the fuel pressure regulator, all seemed good. So before i did a fuel pressure test, i decided to do the fuel filter since i know it hadn't been changed in a while. Now, while i have the whole assembly out, i was wondering if theres any way to test the fuel pump. I've read about jumping the relay with the main pump hose detached but didn't have the relay connectors or fuse the bentley manual called for. Any other ideas, or should i just get a new pump, to my knowledge its never been replaced..
Thanks guys
