OK, OK, I have been reading the board, through EVERYTHING regarding cruise control and 240's. Here is my problem. I've had my car for 3 years, the cruise is factory, its always been there, but it has never worked. I decided yesterday that I was going to fix it! I looked under the dash and saw that the cruise switch on the brake pedal was unplugged and had a bolt screwed into the T-fitting(instead of the the brake pedal) from the servo motor to the gas pedal diaphragm(the brake switch had been bypassed). the wires to the silly cruise brake switch were off as well, and the harness was cut. I got the instructions floating around here on the brickboard(the pdf) I followed the installation instructions, everything seemed fine. I popped the hood, checked the servo motor, it hums when connected directly to power, I checked the brake switch it is fine. Today I went to the Pick N' Pull, and I bought a new(used) cruise brain from a 240 JUST like mine, and I took the proper brake switch and I took some of the hose, and I got the whole wiring harness and a new stalk there as well, as well as a new UPPER BRAKE SWITCH came home, wired it all up, and STILL it wont work. I don't even hear the motor kick on! I get NOTHING. and yes, all of my brake lights work!! I'M CLUELESS, AND I CANT FIGURE IT OUT. I have read that there is no orange wire to the back of the speedometer cluster, and indeed there is NO orange wire on mine. However, before I installed my tachometer(which was 2 days ago) I had all of the wires plugged up, and I read that the tach wire if plugged into the speedometer would fry it. Everything seems to be working except the odometer(i replaced the gear still doesn't work, must be the motor) ANYWAY. Does anyone have any idea what could be the problem? I just don't know what else to do. It's like an obsession, this is the last piece of the electrical system that I cant fix! I've got power windows, power locks, power antenna, and the rare power sunroof upgrade that I did myself! Any help or suggestions would be appreciated! ANYYYY!
