Fuel pump "whirs' when tank gets low 200

Okay, I've used up my daily post limit, but. . . .

When the fuel tank in my 245 get to about 1/4, I can hear what I guess is the fuel pump (or pre-pump) making quite a racket in the back. It sounds like a "whirring-spinning-motor" sort of sound. As soon as I fill the tank, it goes away. Normal or harbinger of doom?
