broken wiring at gas tank plate 700 1990

While doing a R&R of intank pump on 90 740 [regina] the pos wire to pump broke off at the epoxy fitting on outside of gas tank plate. Cannot solder because the stub is buried in the epoxy. Anyone have any creative solutions, short of a boneyard search? I thought about running new wire through the unused vent fitting, but am not sure that it could be sealed in the tube with epoxy etc to prevent vapor leakage.
