I just finished my restoration/upgrade on my 1958 444. As part of this I also added a 5 speed overdrive transmission. I must say that I highly recommend this project. What a difference it has made in freeway driving. A quick flip of a switch and she goes from a cacophonous symphony of noise to a purring wildcat. When I switch the overdrive on, it slightly lurches and clunks, when I turn it off it shifts down perfectly. Any idea what might be causing this?
