A month or so ago, I removed and cleaned my throttle body on my '86 240 sedan.
I had loosened the 2 screws that secure the throttle switch in place, thinking it came off so I could clean the TB better. Well, it didn't want to come off, so I snugged it back down and thought all was well. Wrong. My idle was high and out of whack thinking it was a vacuum issue. I starts great from cold and always runs great until it's warmed up and I come to a stop and the idle drops from it normal idle speed of about 750 to 500 and under then stalls. Yesterday I went back and rechecked the TS and heard the "click" the book was talking about, but the rpm's are still above 1000. I tried the idle adjustment by grounding the blue/white wire and adjusting the mixture knob, but even turning clockwise to the stop it still won't lower the rpm to the 750 I'm looking to get to. Are there any other tricks?
