Hey guys. I'm at my wits end with a water pump that won't seal on my '93 244. Water pump is new. I installed it a few weeks ago and had some trouble getting the heater return pipe to seal up. Added some silicone around the connection and it seemed to do the trick. The past couple of days, I've noticed I have coolant under the car. Purchased a new seal kit, removed and reinstalled (without gasket sealant) and it had a steady stream of coolant from the bottom of the pump where it seals to the block (without water pressure). Removed the pump again, dried out the gasket, added silicone sealant and reinstalled. Drove a few blocks and let idle. No leak. About an hour later, I look under the car and there is again a steady leak (not drip, steady stream) coming from the heater return. I did some looking around on BB and took the advice of putting some gasket sealant on the rubber seal that goes on the heater return tube.
Any thoughts. I'm ready to drive it over a cliff.
Thanks
Trey
