6x9 install questions on a 90 volvo 200

Ok so I decided I am gona build boxes. Should I make the boxes small or biger. Want to harness as much bass as possible. Two choices of speakers. I have 160 watt max 5x7 kole audio speakers or infinity dodge 6*9, not sure of the watts. They look prety big.
