Fuse 10 blows when child safety switch for rear windows is plugged in 200

89 244DL (Auto). Fuse 10 did not normally blow, and the power windows worked fine from the driver's seat and the front passenger's seat. You could lower the rear windows fromt the driver's seat as well. But I can't lower the back windows with the back switches.
At first, I thought it was the back switches themselves, so I removed them and cleaned them up. Didn't fix anything, so I thought maybe there was a problem with the carry out switch on the driver's seat switch (the one that allows you to toggle whether the rear windows can be lowered or not by passengers in the rear. When I pulled the driver's switch out, I noticed that the carry-out switch plug was not even plugged in! Perfect, I thought, just plug it back in and everything should be fixed. But I was wrong. With that carry out switch plugged into the driver's seat switch, fuse 10 blows immediately as soon as the key is turned to "on." If I unplug the carry out switch from the driver's window switch, I can use the windows again normally (of course you can only lower the rear windows with the driver's switch). So there is obviously something in the wiring of that carry out switch causing the problem. Anyone had this problem before?
Where should I begin to look? Is there a short in the door or somewhere else? The wiring looks fine as it passes through the door hinge. Thanks for all the help and advice. I am really stuck here. Thanks.
