Hmmm... what does this mean? 700 1987

Hi folks,

Yesterday I tried to turn on my non-functional AC system in my 740GLE, a couple minutes after I started the car. The car was still cold. After driving for a few minutes, I realized that the temp gauge hadn't moved - and was sitting on the 'resting' pin as if the car was off.

I turned the AC, then the car, off, and waited a moment, then turned the key back to the II position. It operated like normal. Knock on wood that I have had no other issues with the temp gauge (it tells me the truth).

What's up?
