Heater core 700 1987

Hi folks,

Could you guys give me the low-down on how to diagnose a leaky heater core, without ripping up the dash? Here's what's up:

Anti-freeze smell.

No coolant loss.

No windshield misting.

OEM original heater hoses and valve.

I have a thought - could a leaking heater valve draw coolant through the vacuum system and into the vents? I still have a dash vacuum leak, I think.

Thanks,

Ari
