Door Locks, Door Locks Door Locks! How do you get these things apart??? 444-544

Ok I've studied them from every angle. I have one that is taken apart, and I can see how they work. I can see how they are to go back together. But I cannot figure out how to take one apart. I had the locksmith in on the gig for two hours today. He couldn't figure it out either. There's two holes on either side of the lock body. Obviously these have something to do with it. has anyone had enough experience with these to have taken one apart??
What's the secret???
