I have a non-turbo 93 940 sedan, for a while my overdrive has been sticking and not downshifting, yes im a girl and the only way I know how to truely explain it is for example when im trying to go 50 MPH the RPM's are revving to 3 and not down shifting. My orange overdrive arrow has been staying on until last weekend I was playing with the overdrive button on the shifter knob and it turned off and was off for a few days and the car ran just fine, shifted correctly, no problems. But all good things must come to an end and the arrow came back on and ever since ive been battling "The Tank" to get from point A to point B. I cant take the highway, I cant go over 50 without the car feeling like its about to blow up. HELP ME! My father suggested that we try removing something from behind the fuse pannel to disable the overdrive, I am familiar with this area from when I changed my fuel pump relay? I think thats what it was, but if this is something that I could remove to make my car shift correctly I am willing to do so.
As much advice as possible welcome, I dont really want to invest any money in the car as horrible as that sounds, If anyone is interested in buying it let me know! :)
