The odometer on my 1974 164e has been slowing dying over the last couple months and is now pretty much down for the count. I've pulled the odometer from my 1975 parts car, and have three questions for the volvo sages: (1)wouldn't it be easier to swap the seemingly functional backup for the old one, rather than trying to extract and swap gears? (2) parts car is an auto, main car is a manual -- am I right in thinking that makes no difference? (3) main car has about 78k miles (well, 79k now) and backup has around 200k -- can I turn it forward or back to get to the right number? which would be better, forward or back? and what's the best method? any other thoughts or advice greatly appreciated. Thanks
