So I have a friend thats getting interested in picking up his first 122, he's found a 1969 2 dr sedan that he's interested in checking out further. I've told him a bit of what to look for and will give him a look at my 67 220 so he's a bit more familiar with things. All I've owned was wagons in the past 2 1/2 yrs since I've started getting into vintage volvos.
my question is how does the 69 differ from say a 66 or 67? I'm definatly more of a wagon guy and the only sedan I've been in and out of was the one I parted out for the new rebuilt front end and B20 and it was pretty rusty in the floors and rockers etc. What should he be looking for in terms of the 69, it should have a B20 right? Is it a dual brake set-up, brake booster? Will it have a M40 or M41 in it. I know there is some rust in the rockers, anywhere else aside from the usual spots like the headlight area and nose he should look for?
I have to work when he plans on checking it out so I'd like to give him as much info to run with. I basically told him to try and find the least rusty 122 he can find, kinda excited to have a friend thats getting into old volvos. any help fould be great.
Thanks.
