temp guage question 120-130 1967

Now that spring is here in my parts, I need to pull the old broken temp sender out of the 67. I have a working replacement to swap in. The other day i pulled a broken one out of a B18 I have in the garage to check it out before i start on the daily driver. There was a crush washer that seals things by the look of things, do I need to wrap some teflon tape around the threads or use some high temp silicone to seal it up tight before I tighten the new sender down? Or is the crush washer enough. Now that its getting warmer out I'd really like to know what the temp is at...

Thanks.
Chris
