Recently my car suddenly broke down, and today I finally was able to take a look at it.
I remember there being no tach bounce when I cranked it, so I pulled the distributor off.
I noticed that it did not spin freely. There are 4 metal sections that pass by the Hall sensor, and one of them was bent slightly inward and rubbed on the magnetic pickup.
Would this cause the demise of my Hall sensor? Or will simply bending the metal section back so it doesn't rub be good enough?
I believe this section being bent was my own fault. The old rotor crumbled when I took it off, and a piece probably fell inside distributor, lodging in the sensor and causing my car to die.
Any ideas?
