HI There everyone, I have just repaired my fuel gauge sender, after it was completely stuck in empty position and the float itslf had small pin holes in. Anyway I repaired the holes, put a new gasket and screws and soaked the arm mechanism in penetrating fluid, which done the trick (I love that stuff). So I hooked it up and my fuel gauge now reads a happy half a tank which is about right. The only thin is as soon as I rev the engine or start driving a bit, the needle in the gauge jumps back and forth like mad, I assume this is the float bobbing up and down, and sending current etc. But my question is to all you 1800 owners out there is: Is this normal for these cars? I have checked the inside of the coil thing and all is well. Any help would be appreciated. Jimmy. London UK. www.myvolvo1800.blogspot.com
