Hello All,
Could use some help. Apparently, the cage broke on the right front inner wheel bearing. The right front wheel was growling a bit.
I removed the wheel, disassembled the caliper and rotor and removed the castellated nut behind the dust cover. The hub was a little stuck and when I yanked it off, out came the outer bearing and a number of rollers from the inner bearing fell to the ground as a result of the cage being broken. I cleaned things up, but other than Fig 3 on page 770-2 of Bentley, I'm stuck as to how to remove the inner race of the inner bearing which seems to be firmly attched onto the spindle.
I could also use some help to make sure I'm calling the components by their right name. I realize that the hub has the outer races (which I'll have to replace also). Does each bearing assembly include the bearings, cage and inner race?
I could def use some help on this one. Thanks in advance,
Marty Wolfson
