700 / 900 Parts Compadability - Best Car for a Diesel Swap?

First of all, do all of the 7 / 9 series share the same frame / basic chassis? My main concern is motor mount pads on the frame, trans crossmember mount pads, and the exhaust routing / hangers.

The reason for this is that I am considering doing a D24T swap into a later model 7 or 9 series car. I have a rebuilt D24 motor and trans out of an 85, and I also have the 85 740 sedan it came out of, with the fuel lines, tank, exhaust, etc. I would like to put the motor in a later model wagon, hopefully I could find on with a blown motor but nice body and just swap everything over. I realize there will be some issues with wiring, gauges, etc, but my main concern is if there are any year that definetely will not take the diesel. As far as I know, it's the same mounting setup (essentially) as a B230 in the 740, but I am not sure if they changed anything later. I am guessing the 960 would be a different motor mount setup, can anyone conferm this?

Any thoughts on what would be the best year car to look for?
Thanks ~ John
