Hi folks,
I know this is a tired subject - and being broke, until April 30th (I get paid once a month! And one of my freelance clients ditched me, so I'm really (!) broke), I haven't been able to put you guys' advice to proper use.
I know my center support bearing is unhappy - it squeeks at different speeds and engine loads, predictably. No vibrations associated with this noise.
My occasional, predictable vibration at highway speeds, when pressing the accelerator firmly, still is mystifying me. I have narrowed it down to happening ONLY when my AW70L has locked up. Pressing the pedal through a good part of its travel, in an attempt to kick down (I know, unlikely to happen at ~60mph), only results in more severe shaking.
The most odd thing about this is that I cannot accelerate when shaking. Would a shaking driveshaft slow you down, or cap your speed? Only when kicking down to 3rd can I accelerate when conditions conspire to create this vibration - or, when engine load decreases, normal slow acceleration can resume. It's like I have my horsepower capped. But only in 4th, lockup gear.
This makes me think it's an ignition, fuel delivery, or transmission (yikes!) issue.
Ack!
