Here's a wierd one. Ever since I removed and cleaned IAC+T/B I have been fighting a low idle even when adjusted per the manual. After the adjusetment procedure failed to cure the low idle(550 or so) I replaced the IAC w/a rebuilt. Same. I have been tweaking the throttle linkage rod to keep the idle at 900 or so when idling but it still dips to 550 or so when in drive at a stop light when hot, when cold it stays higher. So today I am staring at the tach sitting in my driveway putting the car in drive and back in park and noting the range when I notice the tach getting erratic. It very briefly jumped between 1000 and 0 a couple times with no relation to engine speed. First could this be related to the low idle/failure to adjust properly? Second what could/would cause fluctuation of the tach not correlated to engine speed? Two seperate issues? Still seems to be running very well otherwise and getting decent mileage(22 or so at 75mph on highway:).
