'89 flame trap question 200

I'm just wondering about the Flame Trap holder on an 1989. On ipd's website it shows this image/map of flame trap which shows a hose(A) running from the side post of the flame trap holder(D). My current holder has no hose there and I'm wondering if I need one and where it runs to. Thanks!
