Hi guys,
Monday and Tuesday, I noticed my power steering making a small amount of noise - since I hadn't driven it over the weekend, I wrote it off to my ears, not to the car.
This morning, driving to work, it was much worse, and the PS seemed a little harder to turn (usually it's drive-with-my-pinky smooth). The pump, or belts, or whatever were making a power-steering-is-struggling noise when I turned the wheel.
Could this be due to a failing crank pulley (which I think I have)? A slipping belt (my belt squeak is getting worse as the weeks go by)? My PS pump and lines are not leaking, I checked.
FYI, I have not messed with my PS fluid since I got the car in January. I planned (this week, actually!) to get a turkey baster, and use up a quart of cheap ATF I have in my trunk changing the fluid.
Thanks, guys, I know you'll be able to give me a helpful hint.
