fuel - spark - just won't start 700 1987

My sons 87 760 turbo has been stalling at random times lately and the time between episodes has gotten more frequent. It has reached a point of not starting at all. I have checked the radio supression relay, fuel delivery and spark. It has fuel, spark and I'm stumped. It could be the hall sensor but taking the distributor off is a pain. There is movement in the tach and the starter is robust. It just won't start. Have removed the heat sink and applied diode grease. This wagon has been flawless up until recently and the stalls have become more frequent and finally killed the car. Feedback is appreciated
