No Start- I'm an Idiot 200 1989

I've been doing multiple projects at once. The list might humour some-Just threw in a new odometer gear, was looking around my pedals to try and figure out why my isn't Cruise control not working (don't THINK I messed anything up-just lookin around). The alternator is newer. New Battery. After market voltmeter.
New fuel filter, oil filter, air filter.
The other day I noticed the hose running to the side-post/nipple on the flame trap holder was disconnected (for how long I have no idea-but awhile) I reconnected it and drove for a day thinking I had a bit less driving power than usual. One day later, no start. It turns over, battery reads @ 12.3V w/car off, can smell a little gas. I removed the flame trap holder, the larger top hose, and the hose that was previously disconnected. They were dirty (especially the loose one-basically clogged)and I cleaned them as best I could-The hoses are nice and clean. Is something related to these flame-trap issues a possible no start cause?
Looking for any advice troubleshooting this. Not a mechanic.
Can it be my starter if Im getting the usual cranking sound?
Messing with pedals?
Blew engine stuff with dirty lines to flame trap?
And this no start happened in the rain @49F degrees outside.

Also if anyone has a vacuum chart for an 89 or advice on checking it thatd be awesome.
Thanks a bunch for any advice!
