Brake booster vacuum hose 700 1987

Hi folks, Ari here. I'm having trouble getting the 3/8" ID hose off the brake booster/intake manifold. The manifold I don't think I'd have trouble with if I just cut the hose and split it (like a stuck radiator hose), but I get queasy when I jiggle that flimsy-looking 'pivot' made of plastic connected to the brake booster. What precautions do I need to take, and how do I get it off safely?
