After a weekend of installing a CD player and fixing the drivers window that had jumped its track on my 87' 740 (thanks shannon for all your help), I took the car out for a night time stroll. I quickly noticed that I had no lights on my cluster, my shifter, or hvac controls. My SRS warning light was on, as was the "light bulb out" light, and the speedo and tach were both moving. I started troubleshooting by pulling fuses 21 and 22 (both not blown). When I pulled 21, the lights on the gear selector lit up. Odd I thought, put 21 back in its place and pulled 22. Same thing, no dash lights, but the gear selector lights lit up. All my exterior lights on these circuits work.
Any ideas on what this could be? I did some searching and saw that it could be the rheostat or a bad ground. Not much on what it could be with the fuse still working.
I must have made a goof somewhere in wiring but have no clue where to start.
