'83 245 coil wire stuck?? I've never seen this before

Hi all,

In getting my son's might fine '83 245 manual tranny wagon ready for a trip, I bought a new set of spark plug wires from a local parts house about 2 weeks ago. They were Belden brand, rather pricey, looked a lot like the Bougichord, and I was pleased with the nice solid connections.

I noticed this morning that the connection at the coil feels like it's stuck/welded on. (I was going to try iton my '90 wagon and see if it fit. The '90 has a sloppy, loose connection at the coil which occasionally pops loose.)

Should I be concerned, or should I let this sleeping dog lie? I surely don't want to break the cable trying to get it loose.
