Rant : Walker Cat Vs. Bosal 700 1988

1988 740GLE wagon. Other day while on Parkway car lost power. Was not able to get much past 55mph. Turned out problem was that the catalytic converter went bad and insides had cracked/broken up and this was clogging up cat/exhaust system thus giving me reduced power. I know I should have waited 2x days for Bosal but instead went for Walker which was in stock at my local parts store. Big mistake. Walker which was supposedley a direct fit was anything but. Too long and too wide at rear. The too long part was OK as i simply cut it down about an inch . However the too wide in diameter by about 1/8" was a real pain as I had to run around to get correct reducing adaptor and I also really hate using adaptors. Oh well. Just wanted to post this so others can know about this issue. By the way I have used Bosal cat's on Volvo 240 series(but never admittedly on 700 series) and I know them to be a no hassle true direct fit.
