I was putting things back together after bypassing the temp comp board.
Went for a ride to see how it worked. The car stopped without warning about half way through my course.

Got towed home. About an hr later the car starts just like nothing had happened.
Now the speedo is pegged at 110mph whenever key is on.

Discovered that I had accidentely attached the tach supply wire to the cruise control terminal on the instrument cluster.

The big question is how likely is it that the wiring problem caused my ignition to switch off?
