We need a fourth Volvo!? And I am looking at a 1992 940 Turbo with 120,000 miles. It is from a small used car lot and the good news is they have all of the receipts from the previous 2 owners. The AC has been changed to the new freon. It runs and stops great. The paint and interior are very good.
Here are the areas of concern I would like input on:
1. I called the previous owner (from the receipts) and he said it needs a quart of oil every 3 to 4 weeks, no drips so it must be burning it.
2. When you roll up the drivers window, it kicks to the side a fraction at the very top, creating a small gap. Therefore there is a very loud wind noise in the drivers ear. How hard is it to fix something like that?
3. This car may originally have been bought in Canada. The archives mention that the 1992 940 GL from Canada has 16 valves. Could this turbo also have 16 valves?
4. It may need a transmission mount, per previous owner. What is an estimate for that? How do you tell?
THANKS.
