240 wagon crank no start after disconnecting jumper cable 200 1986

The car was running great, until today. I was giving a battery jump to a outboard motor which started up fine. As both motors were running I disconnected the clamp on the positive side of the volvo's battery. As I removed the jumper cable from my battery the car shut off and would not start. This is a car that is very dependable and starts easily. The starter cranks great but the car gives no hint of starting.
Here are the things looked for: I checked the 25amp fuse (LH system fuse) that on the left side under the hood near the fender, checked the fuses in the fuse panel inside the car to the left of the drivers left foot, had replaced the original fuel pump relay under the glove box two years ago, checked the air mass meter with a ohm meter (it was OK), also checked for spark by pulling center lead off the distributer while cranking. What do you'all think happened as a result of disconnecting the jumper cable from my battery while the car was running? I have jumped other vehicles before and had no problem at all. I figure someone out there just might have an idea. Thanks for your Help.
Joel
